**2017 Real Estate Assessments(Data Updated on Sept. 21, 2017)**

**Real Estate Ownership updated as of Sept. 14th. **

The Department of Real Estate Assessments is responsible for the fair and equitable valuation of real property. The current assessment became effective January 1, 2017 and will remain in effect until January 1, 2019. As mandated by the Culpeper County Board of Supervisors, Culpeper County assesses on a biennial cycle.

Notices for the 2017 General Reassessment were mailed the week of February 20th.  Appeals ran from March 1st - March 29th and have now ended, please feel free to call if you have any questions regarding your assessment. 

The Culpeper Board of Supervisors will typically vote to advertise the Real Estate Tax Rates in April of each calendar year. 

Public hearing(s) for the Real Estate Tax Rate are typically scheduled for late April of each year and the rate will usually be adopted at the May BOS meeting.

Current Tax Rates for 2017

County of Culpeper - $0.67 per 100 dollars in assessed value; Typically mailed in late September due December 5th.

For properties located within the Town limits you will also receive a bill from the Town of Culpeper.

Town of Culpeper - $0.10 per 100 dollars in assessed value; Typically mailed early December due January 31st.

(Public Hearing(s) for the Town of Culpeper are typically held in May with adoption of rates in June of each calendar year.)
