2023
REVALUATION UPDATE
This
site contains the proposed assessments for the City of New London, CT.
New London has just completed its state mandated reassessment. This
project was the joint effort of the Assessor’s Office and Vision Government
Solutions, Inc. This new assessment represents 70% of the market value of your
property as of October 1, 2023. Notices with a mailing date of December
13, 2023 were mailed to ALL owners of taxable real estate in the City.
Please note ***any exemptions that you may be eligible for are NOT reflected on
this notice.
The new assessments will be used to calculate the tax bills
that will be due July 1, 2024.
NOTE***
Do NOT apply the current tax (mill) rate to your new assessment, as the mill
rate will change, once the new budget is approved in the Spring of 2024.
Using the current mill rate will not accurately calculate your July, 2024 tax
bill.
You may look up the new assessment for your
property using this online database. In addition, you may use the Sales
Search feature to view recently sold properties in New London, which served as
the basis of market value for this revaluation.
If you
wish to appeal your assessment after the informal hearing, or if you are not
able to attend an informal hearing, you may file an appeal with the City of New
London Board of Assessment Appeals. Appeals to the Board of Assessment
Appeals must be filed on or before February 20, 2024. You do not have to attend
an informal hearing to apply for a hearing with the Board of Assessment
Appeals, but please bear in mind that the Board of Assessment Appeals process
is more involved and more formal. You may obtain an application at the
New London Assessor’s Office.
The staff of the New London Assessor's Office and
Vision Government Solutions, Inc. wish to thank the property owners of the City
of New London for their cooperation during this State-Mandated Property
revaluation program.
