Welcome to the Canton Connecticut Assessor’s Property Records (Field Cards)

Property assessments reflect 70% of fair market value as of the most recent town-wide revaluation on October 1, 2023.

Important Notes About Assessments

  • Do not apply the assessment on the field card directly to the Mill Rate.
  • The Town of Canton adopted a four-year phase-in of the 2023 revaluation.
    • Each year, one quarter of the total increase in property value is added to the assessment.
  • The next revaluation is scheduled for October 1, 2028.
  • Some parcels are classified under Public Act 490, Connecticut’s current-use program for farmland, forest land, and open space. These properties are assessed based on their current natural use rather than market value to help discourage over development.

Ownership & Record Updates

  • Property ownership records are updated every Monday.
  • The record reflects the status as of October 1, 2025 Grand List.
