The Department of Real Estate Assessments is responsible for the fair and equitable valuation of real property. The current assessment became effective January 1, 2023 and will remain in effect until January 1, 2025. As mandated by the Culpeper County Board of Supervisors, Culpeper County assesses on a biennial cycle.

County of Culpeper - $0.** per 100 dollars in assessed value; Typically mailed late September due December 5th.


Town of Culpeper - ($0.0*) per 100 dollars in assessed value; Typically mailed early December due January 31st.

(Public Hearing(s) for the Town of Culpeper are typically held in May with adoption of rates in June of each calendar year.)

**Real Estate Assessment Data (Updated - February 2023)**

**Real Estate Ownership and property data updated as of December 31, 2022. **


 

  •  Public hearing for County Tax Rates is scheduled for April 18, 2023 and adoption of Tax Rates is scheduled for May 2, 2023 in the BOS meeting room at 10:00am.


  • Notices for the 2023 General Reassessment were mailed the week of February 22, 2023.  Appeals run from March 2th - March 30th of  2023, please feel free to call if you have any questions regarding your assessment.
