The Town of Norfolk has a quarterly tax billing schedule for real estate. The tax billing year is based on a fiscal year and not a calendar year. The fiscal year is from July 1st to June 30th.  FY 2022 began July 1, 2021 and ends June 30, 2022. 

The first two tax bills for FY 2022 were Preliminary Bills, based on last year taxes. The Preliminary Bills are each approximately 1/4 of last year taxes.   The preliminary bills are issued July 1 and October 1 of each year.

The 3rd quarter tax bill also known as the FY 2022 Actual Tax Bill, will show the new assessment for FY 2022 and the new tax rate for FY 2022.  The actual tax bills are issued January 1 and April 1 of each year. Please note the FY 2022 assessments will be based on Real Estate Sales during calendar year 2020.

Please note the following Important Point: State law requires FY 2022 tax bills to reflect ownership as of Jan 1, 2021. For property purchased after Jan 1, 2021, the new owner's name will appear on the FY 2023 1st Quarter Tax Bill issued July 1, 2022.

This on-line data base is only updated periodically throughout a Fiscal Year.
