Welcome
Welcome to the Smyth County Commissioner of the Revenue's Public Real Estate Information Portal
This online portal is part of an ongoing initiative to improve accessibility and modernize the services provided by the Smyth County Commissioner of the Revenue’s Office.
A primary goal of the Commissioner of the Revenue is to ensure that citizens have convenient access to accurate property information. This website serves as a valuable resource toward achieving that mission.
Property data presented on this site is updated nightly, based on current records in our system. While every effort is made to maintain accurate and timely information, some data may be slightly outdated and is provided for informational purposes only.
This site is meant to reflect most currently available information. Real estate taxes are based on the property's status as of January 1 of the tax year; therefore, the tax ticket/bill issued may not fully reflect updates that will appear on this site.
For questions regarding the information displayed, or to report corrections, please contact our office. Riley Snow, the Real Estate Division Lead, is available to assist with property-related inquiries.

The most recent general reassessment of real property became effective on January 1, 2024. Smyth County currently conducts reassessments every four years or as otherwise determined by the Board of Supervisors. If the current schedule is maintained, the next reassessment will take effect on January 1, 2028, with assessment activities beginning in 2027.
When a building permit is issued, the change is noted to the contracted assessors who will visit property during the year to establish a value for January 1 of the tax rates.
